Shaving " down there"?

I'm 12 years old and Ive been growing my pubic hair for about a year and a half now. I absolutely hate my pubic hair and i'm think about shaving it off. Is it dangerous? I already clip the hair so it doesn't get too long and since the summer is here i'm worried about it showing through my bathing suit! Please help! Thanks! :)
