I have a gash on my back that I can't cover...?

While cleaning one of the closets a few days ago without my shirt on, a brick fell on my upper back between my two shoulders. Luckily it only left a maybe 1 square inch gash on my upper shoulders in the middle. I immediately h2o2'd it, let it dry and applied iodine. The only problem is that I have band-aids that would only fall off. I applied medical guaze and had my wife tape that onto my back but that would only fall off by moving certain ways. This wound is on the worst place of my body to heal quickly because I can't get any kind of bandage to stay on it. Also, I'm sweating a lot as it's summer, and it burns so bad when sweat touches it. What should I do?!!!

Is the cut on my elbow infected?

6 days ago i fell on the sidewalk and scraped my elbow so badly i took off enough skin to see the white underneath. gross I know. when i got home i cleaned it up and bandaged it and now I'm using an anti-bacterial spray-on bandage. It started to scab around the edges and it doesn't hurt as much as it did before. The only thing is this yellow-ish pus keeps leaking from it, but not a lot. Cut on face will not stop bleeding even after stitches.?

About a week ago I had an accident. I got a 5 inch slash on my face, running almost vertical from my jaw to just below my hairline,close to my ear on the left side of my body. the cut was pretty deep, I had to have two sets of stitches put on, one in the internal part of the cut and the other set- "24" stitches on the outside, the problem i'm having is that my face swelled up as soon as the stitches were put in place and im still bleeding about week later, after a couple days the swelling had not gone down and i was bleeding from the bottom of the laceration, so I made a visit to the ER I was told it was blood pooled up in my face due to a blood clot causing the swelling. The doctor then proceeded to make aditional perforations and squeezed some of the blood out,after a couple more days the swelling did go down, but not sure if it was due to the "squeezing" of the blood or the big bandage that was wrapped around my face for the next couple of days. I went back on Thursday to have them remove soutures and was told Id have to wear the bandage again.I have been bleeding the whole time, the doctor said i could swell up again.. so im going back in tomorrow to have them remove more soutures they placed in my cut. Could there be anything they are missing? its been seven days and im still bleeding.

2 Degree Burns are normally the ones that blister but I think its normally the 3rd degree burns that doctors WILL bandage up and would have possibly burned off your skin. A doctor might bandage a 2 degree burn if its on the face i don't know but i do recommend seeing a doctor when someone ever has any injury etc to the face especially.

I'll try to explain as best as i can. i don't know why but i've been starting to fear my future for a few weeks now for numerous reasons. Im 16, i just finished 10th grade and im going on to 11th grade.I graduate high school in 3 yrs and then I go to college. I have no idea what i want to go to college for. I have no idea what career i want, ive been trying to think about it since last year but im just not sure. I feel like i wont have a career because i dont know which career suits me well. Hard to say. I think that the courts should be more careful about taking on what might be considered frivolous lawsuits, like that nut who sued his dry cleaners for millions of dollars because they lost a pair of slacks. And his brother has other brother’s, sister’s, and cousins who are single and could be doing these things. I asked my boyfriend why can’t I come and he doesn’t want me to. He doesn’t have any time for me, at all… squeezes time in for me at night so he can get lucky. Although it was only once... and I’m not jealous that all his time is going for his brother, but I mean if he wants to spend time with his brother.. Why don’t they go to the movies together or play sports? Maybe I am being selfish… what do you think?

I've always used scarlet oil, and it is usually easily available and not very expensive. You could also use Betadine (intended for humans) but I'd dilute it a bit. I think as long as you keep it moist and covered it should heal well, since you are already giving penicillin. By the way - STUPID thing to have in a horse pasture - are they planning to remove it? I might talk to them about that. At the very least, hope they're paying your vet bill! (Last place I boarded my horse found a coil of barbed wire lying around in a field. Brilliant. I know this isn't the answer that you want but trust me, don't do it. I sprained my ankle over a year ago and now its chronically sprained and I'm frequently in pain. After spraining that one, I recently sprained my other one which didn't heal correctly either and now I can't wear heels (I'm a girl), jump well, or run without a brace. They're stiff when I get up in the morning and just a pain. Also, to get a big bandage, not just an ace, you have to have a really bad sprain most likely involving a torn ligament. Can I have my 6 month old boxers tail docked?

I have a 6 month old boxer with an un-docked tail. I want to have it docked due to the fact that he wags it so hard and smacks it on stuff, that he literally breaks the skin and then it starts bleeding and he sprays blood all over the place and I'm constantly having to clean blood off my walls, my refrigerator, my stove, etc. I put bandages on the tail end, and he just keeps taking them off and then eating them. There's cat that we think was abandoned when someone moved out and left it behind. She is very friendly and the people that live in these apartments all take care of her. She is very clean and healthy looking. She's well fed and at a healthy weight. We don't know how old she is but looks like at least 3 years old but it's hard to tell so she might be a lot older. She is white with gray spots and very cute so everyone calls her Pretty Kitty. I was petting her and caught a glimpse of her eyes. This was the first time I've ever seen her. At first I thought her eyes were part brown and part blue. I was horrified to find that there was a blue-gray eyelid thing? It's really hard to describe. I searched online and I think it's called the nictitating membrane. It starts at the inner corner of her eyes and covers part of her eyes (like a little over 1/3 of them) not the whole thing. I'm pretty sure I'm the first to notice this so maybe it just started recently. She seems to be able to see okay. I was thinking maybe it was a cat fight injury but its on both eyes and there aren't any signs of any injuries. There aren't any other symptoms that I know of. She is very friendly and loves to be pet. She doesn't seem to be in pain or have vision problems but animals are good at not showing pain. I am going to see if maybe people in these can pool their money together to pay for a vet visit. One time she had a cat fight injury and someone cleaned and bandaged it so I know people care. I'm really worried and we are going to get her vet care as soon as we can. She's usually some where near the apartments cause that's where she sleeps and eats but it isn't always the same spot every night. I hope we will be able to find her easily. I have a cut just above my big toe on my left foot. Normally I would just do a normal wrap for a cut like this, but it is in an awkward position. I fell on my longboard yesterday on the road , I put my foot down to push it and my foot slid and scraped my entire leg up on my knee about half way down my shin and on the whole top of my foot. It didnt ating that bad after , then I got home about an hour later washed it out put neosporin on and bandages, at night they fell off then when I went to sleep I couldnt sleep at all. Terrible stinging and pain. Today it hurts sooo bad. my legs cant stop shaking and it is intense pain. Its red all around it about two inches thick around. Gallbladder healing process?

So on the 15th of this month I got my gallbladder removed they did the surgery where they make the tiny incisions. I was wondering if anyone experienced any itching sensation on the incisions and if that's normal also a coupld of the bandages came off already so its just scabs now but there is a small faint of redness around my scabs. For the past 3 weeks I have been playing tennis. I took a week off to go to Dallas, Texas. When I came back today and played tennis again my wrist was hurting and won't stop. It's been 6 hours since my practice and it's hurting still. When I twist my wrist it hurts, BAD. There's loud cracking sounds when I rotate my wrist. I have never hurt my wrist before and I don't know what to do. I also play softball and it hurts when I play. Can anyone help? Would stabilizing my wrist help? My sister has a splint, and my other sister has a cast thing. It's a half cast though. Should I just put an ACE Bandage on? Should I just suck it up and keep playing? Help please!! :))

I bit the skin off from my mouth, can it get infected easier because it's in my mouth?

I had a little piece of skin hanging in my mouth, so i bit it, and next thing i knew, under my lip, a nice fingernail sized section was missing. The next day it was swollen like crazy, and it's a yellowish bump. I swish every day, and make sure to keep my mouth clean, but is it at more of a risk for infection? I can't bandage it up or anything, so do I just let it sit for a few more days?

3 days ago I wasn't wearing knee pads and got like a rug rash type of thing on both of my knees wen playing volleyball. they are both the size of a half dollar but the right leg is much worse since the right knee is the one I normally fall on. the day after it happened I had v-ball again and it started bleeding in my knee pads. GCSE Maths Interior Angles Help?

I dont understand what you mean by that but this might come in handy, when wanting to find the interior angles of a shape. E.g a square, it would be 360 divided by 4 considering the sqaure has four sides and a circle, sqaure ect is 360 degrees. 360 divided by 4 = 90. 180 take away 90 = 90. 180 because a straight line is 180 degrees and you must draw a straight line on the bottom of the shape in order to help you. Therefore the interior angle would be 90 degrees. Sorry couldn't help you with your question. :)

Puggles eyes are swollen and look very sore...?

Our 4 year old puggle stayed with a friend this week while we were away on vacation and around Wednesday, they called and said her eyes were swollen and red on the outside. We just got home yesterday and picked her up and there is some discharge and they are very swollen and look very sore. We wrapped her paws with adhesive bandage tape to help her from scratching at them and also put a cone on her. We have also been giving her some canine eye drops to help with irritation. I assume we should take her to the vet to get her some antibiotics, correct? I am doing a manga comic (I'm no pro, I'm just gonna put it up on youtube) and I don't wanna copy anyone, so I just wanna know, have any of you heard this story idea before. In a medieval setting, two great nations are at war in secret to the public. And when the public learns of this war, all the peasants, and commoners from both sides come together, and start a rebellion, because the reason that they so poor, was because most of the natural resources and supplies that would have gotten to them were instead sent to the war effort. Although, this rebellion quickly becomes much more sinister then what was originally intended, so someone steps up to lead the rebellion back to its original plans (he is the main protagonist, but I haven't thought of a name) This story shows allot more war style/large combat fighting, but when they do fight one on one, most of them use talismans to help them fight (some talismans are more powerful and unique than others, and those ones get names to them and become known far and wide, where as others tend to have many of the same talisman and are weaker, and the final type of talisman are talismans that help other talismans be more powerful) The main character gets a powerful talisman (among other weak ones) called polygon (I'm still toying with the name of the actual manga, but I'm thinking of calling it polygon) and this talisman gives him the ability to teleport (to an extent) And other than that I don't have much more to the story to tell you. It is my basic understanding that on a surface (or plane), a normal is perpendicular to it, and a tangent is (somehow) parallel to it. Firstoff, how is being parallel to the plane tangent? If the normal would be a line, it would intersect the plane at only one point, so wouldn't that make the normal the tangent? Secondly, how is it possible to have a normal or tangent to a vertex? A vertex is a single point in space, nothing can be parallel to it or perpendicular to it, so how does that work? Or am I misunderstood and possibly the tangents and normals are calculated on a per-polygon basis? Please, I am trying to understand these concepts in 3d graphics, and I would like to know these things. Will My Insurance Cover Breast Reduction?

I am 20 years old with 36DD breasts. I am a healthy weight, and I have heard many stories of women with much larger breasts, but I have a small frame. My breasts cause bad posture, and strain in my neck, shoulders and back. Although I am at a healthy weight now, diabetes runs very strongly in my family, and I am worried about how I will exercise (aside from eating well) to avoid this disease. It can also be emotionally trying. Do I still need a doctor?

Last year I started a cookery course and straight after that, I started getting sort of hard skin and bit of tears (not cuts while cooking) in my thumb and indexing finger of my right hand. after using so many creams, bandages etc, the problem goes and comes back again. been more than one year. doctor says it would never go away. it will keep coming back. finger/s start looking better and than there is sort of inflammation followed by a very very small tear and it hurts. could somebody kindly assist me about what is this? why is this? SO I have a sister who is known for lying and stealing and is nothing like the rest of my family. 2 weeks ago the day before my graduation she has to be taken to the er. Sheis having pain in her left eye. They cant find anything wrong. 2 more trips to the er and she gets a maybe its scratches on your eye or maybe its eyeritis it could even be a swollen retina. So they send her to the eye doc. The doc says you have totally healthy eyes and he says it might be neurological. So 2 mri's and a brain doc later he says oh her brain is fine lets get a 2nd opinion with a dif eye doc. So my dilema is this is a girl who has not even attempted to remove the eye pads and ace bandage from her eyes that no doctor even recomended she be using. The doctors just keep prescribing her vicodin which she is taking alot of. For a pain nobody can seem to locate. Oh I guess now she is in my living room trying to see if she can see by taking the eye pads off. I would rinse the gash and try to get all of the dirt/debris out, then I would secure a bandage by wrapping gauze around the dog's middle section. I would try to splint the leg to keep it from moving and causing more damage. I would then leave all the supplies and (assuming I could) I would carry the dog back to civilization no matter how long it took. I wouldn't leave the dog unless absolutely necessary because I would be worried it would try to follow and injure itself even more.

I was running outside one day and i run pretty fast and i was playing hide and seek with friends and i was being chased so i ran and then i felt pain on my knee, it was on the front and back side. so i stopped for a second then started to run again and after i did that it really hurt i couldn't straighting it then cause when i did it would hurt or when i walked on it.. So i went inside and my mom put some cream on it that heat it up then a ace bandage on it. I went to sleep that night and woke up and on the back of it was hurting. Only when i straighting it it would hurt but not that bad it just was like pressure or something like that but i cant run cause it hurts on the back.. Can someone please tell me what is wrong??

How to prevent scarring when cut is almost healed?

I had a bad big abrasion on my skin, had cleaned it daily and always covered it with neosporin and bandage, and than i would start to let it breathe and air out, since it has stopped pussing, and all of the crust is off of it. Now the skin is just red on it, it looks like it is very close to healing. Thing is, what if it leave a big huge scar area? A whole area of scar tissue? Ick! How can I prevent this from happening at this point? Should I put more neosporin on it, or will that just throw off natures course since it is already healing? Only asking because ppl always say neosporin prevent scars.

Stubbed toe, what have i done to it? ?

I stubbed my toe yesterday morning and it cracked and hurt a hell of a lot more than if i usually just stub it. After about an hour it started to swell and go purple. If it hurts that bad to the point where you feel crying, even when it's bandaged up really well, I wouldn't play. It wouldn't be overreacting if you told your coach you couldn't play because of your foot. I couldn't play basketball because someone litterly jumped and fell on me and I hit the tender spot of my foot. So I said I couldn't play.

We're fifteen. Been dating nine months. Generally, we hang out three times a week. We go to thE movies all the time. While it's fun.. It's getting expensive. The mall.. We're both at a mutual agreement that it's gotten pretty boring after only a few times going. We usually spend our time at his house, though. We often watch movies or tv there. And boy, are we bored after the movie or show is over.. We rarely come to my house as we get less privacy than at his. We would just sit and talk.. But we literally have ran every subject totally dry. And I'm not exaggerating, either. I am not a summer person at all. So.. I keep us mainly indoors. Occasionally we'll go hang out qt the local school's playground or we'll just take a walk.. But in my opinion, those are better suited for fall and winter, haha. We both don't care for bowling. I enjoy ice skating, but he does not. I absolutely hate swimming.. So none of that. Where else could we go that is indoors? Or what else could we do? Any fun games that you can play are appreciated, too. Or any fun variations of a bunch of cheap things would be nice, too. We've just totally run out of ideas..

When can I take off my bandage after having blood drawn?

I had my blood drawn today & the nurse told me to keep the bandage on, but never told me when to take it off. It's been about 2 or 3 hours since I had my blood drawn. Is it alright to take the bandage off now?

Gauze stuck to my toe ?

I had my toenail removed about 4 days ago and well the gauze under the bandage is stuck to the dried blood. I'm extremely sensitive to pain so I've tried to pull it but, through hysterics and lots of crying, didn't manage to get it off because I'm to much of a wuss. My wound isn't hot but it's red surrounding it!?

i fell off my bike about a week ago. and although it was a big scrape, it didn't bleed at all. once i got home 2hrs later i cleaned it with alcohol and washed it. i've been putting clean gauze every day and bandaging it whenever i hit the trails, and running some water and soap in the showed. it's already scabbed up. but you can see a red outline around it. it's not hot, but i'm worried it might be infected. it hurts more when i poke the actual scab than the surrounding. the scab is normal dark red color. if anything when i was cleaning it and the first few days, watery blood would come out. but only a drop or two if i stretched it and re opened some parts. a foot below, at my ankle, i scrapped it up a bit, and it's just now a bit swollen, if the top wound is infected, could the infection have run down to my ankle? that one doesn't hurt when i poke it, and the scab is already falling off.

Bad cough after rhinoplasty?

What is going on with my ankle (kind of medical)?

Last night, I might have sprained my left ankle, so I got an Ace bandage and wrapped it around my foot and ankle. It was a little too tight but I went to sleep with it on anyway. When I woke up this morning, I undid the bandage because it itched. I slowly began to notice 3 spot on my ankle that were a little swollen and even if I dug my nail into them, I couldn't feel anything. It has been about 18 hours since and they are still there. Ipad 2, Laptop? Ahhh!?

So I have a deliema. I am going into college in the fall 2011 and I was planning on getting a laptop via my money I got from relatives and help from my parents as my grad present. But lately I have really been looking into geting an ipad, this is because they are sweet and I was planning on getting a new ipod touch before college but I know someone with an ipad and I think it could come in hady a lot more than a new ipod (but a lot more $$$), i would use it both for books and another way to take notes in class and record lectures and even just play some games... But I also want to get a good laptop as a more homework thing to type on and such... I have a laptop now also but it barely has any memory and isn't suited for college life (about 3 to 4 years old, out to date and sort of slow). I am already looking into getting a nice laptop at about a $600 range and I have a job to pay for the ipad but I feel bad about spending the money on something like that. Even though I do have coupons and giftcards so the ipad 2 when I actually did buy it would be around $350 (not including tax)..... Please give me good advice and don't be dumb, please try to put yourself into my shoes.
